The People we lost in 2012

I lost a friend named John Gilson. He was a Navy vet, good pool player and cool person to talk to. He always gave  me good advice. John was as real as they came. He left us way too soon.

Michael Carr was a close family friend. He was a very even-tempered person who never had anything bad to say about anyone. One bad choice ended his life.

We lost Michael Clarke Duncan.

We lost Andy Griffith.

We lost Gen. Borman Schwarzkopf

We lost Neil Armstrong.

We lost Dick Clark.

RIP Michael Carr

Michael Carr was killed last week. You can read the story here.

To most Mike was just another person killed in a senseless act. I knew him personally years ago and can say he was one hell of a person. He was close friends with my family, worked with one of my older sisters and even dated another one. I don’t know much about his later life. I do know that my two sisters that knew him thought highly of him as did my mom. As a kid, I can remember him helping my mom carry groceries over to our house and then sitting around and playing video games with me or looking at my newest baseball card(s). He wasn’t supposed to do that, but he did, many times getting in trouble. Mike will surely be missed.
